What is turning radius, wheelbase, and track of a vehicle

Definition of Turning Radius of a vehicle

The turning radius is also known as turning circle of a vehicle. It is defined as the size of the smallest circular turn that the vehicle is capable of making. Turning radius is not the correct term in terms of technicality because the size of the circle is actually the diameter instead of the radius. Turning circle is a better word to depict the same.

Definition of wheelbase or wheel distance of a vehicle

Wheelbase or wheel distance is the horizontal distance between the center of the front wheel and the center of the rear wheel of a vehicle.

Definition of Track of a vehicle

Track is also know as the axle track in vehicles. It is defined as the distance between the centerline of two wheels mounted on the same axle. Depending upon the axle, track would become front-track and rear-track.
