MIT Faculty opens scholarly articles to everybody

MIT faculty open access to their scholarly articles

If you ever dreamt of reading scholarly and research articles of MIT online, the God of research has heard your prayers. The faculty of MIT has opened access to their scholarly articles and you can browse through them free of cost.

This decision was taken as a policy and was approved unanimously at an MIT faculty meeting on Wednesday, March 18. This is a sort of commitment of research body that can inspire a whole generation and can help the younger generation gear for future challenges.

The new policy allows MIT to disseminate the articles of the faculty for open access through a software DSpace. This is a again an open-source software platform developed by the MIT Libraries and Hewlett Packard and launched in 2002. The articles can be used for any purpose apart from making a profit through it.

I can easily visualize mouth watering of people who love to read research articles and that from MIT (!)…save me from hugs and thanks! There is gonna be nothing like it. This is perhaps the best thing that can happen in the world of research and scholarly persuasion of research.
