Re 1, zero fares fly back in the reckoning till September-end

Passengers flying between Delhi and Mumbai have good news: budget airlines IndiGo, GoAir, JetLite and SpiceJet have reduced ticket prices on busiest sector in the country to as low as zero and Re 1.

The special fares, expected to be on offer till the end of the month of September, range between Rs. 3,400 to Rs. 3,600 (on Mumbai-Delhi route).

According to statistics this is the steepest fall in basic fares, from Rs. 2,000 in the month of July, for any sector in the country during the last 6 months.

Bruce Ashby, CEO of IndiGo, said, “There is a short-term special off-peak promo going on for Delhi to Mumbai and Mumbai to Delhi only.
These sectors have had very light loads during the last few weeks. It is good news for passengers”.

And, full-service airline companies are not too far behind, as all of them including Air India, Kingfisher and Jet Airways are offering very low basic fares, ranging between Rs. 100 and Rs. 500.
