BA introduces a new direct connection to Hyderabad

In a significant move, British Airways has decided to launch a brand new service connecting London Heathrow with Hyderabad. Under this new launch, the airline will be operating five flights a week to this reputed Indian city. The new services are scheduled start from 28th October with flights available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

For its onward journey, the new service will depart from Hyderabad at 7.30am (local time) and will land at London Heathrow at 1pm (GMT). On its return journey, the service will depart from the UK at 1.30pm GMT and will arrive at Hyderabad at 4.25 am on the next morning.

It is interesting to note that this new route becomes the sixth route operated by the airline to India. British Airways already operates regular services to five other cities of India namely Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore and Chennai. The new route assumes a great significance with Hyderabad emerging as one of the top IT hubs during the recent years. The new service further enhances the airline’s network into India besides asserting the longstanding commitment of the airline to its Indian market. Over and above, it is important to note that except BA, no other airline is operating a direct service to Hyderabad from London.

A spokesperson for British Airlines noted, “Introducing Hyderabad as the next destination in India is to re-emphasise our commitment to the Indian market. We are focusing on providing better facilities and a wider worldwide network to our customers from India.”
